The new Riva will be:
Flexible: The development of Riva will take place over an extended time and include many actors. We have designed a plan in which the growth of the city can include local changes to density, use, and formal character within a strongly governing armature that will protect and distribute a larger idea of equity and freedom. Our plan seeks to maximize choice for Riva’s builders, inhabitants, and visitors, for their self-expression and satisfaction. Accordingly, this plan is also extremely flexible in the possibilities it offers for the phasing of construction. Once the Riva Ring – the primary organizational armature - is in place, all areas of the site will be equally accessible and able to develop at their own special pace.
